Gourmet Decaf Coffee

Gourmet Decaf Coffee is a beverage that is caffeine free. This is made possible by chemical processes such as the European process or the Swiss water process. According to FDA guidelines decaffeinated coffee must have 97% of the caffeine removed from the seed. Caffeine is usually recorded and sold to companies of soda and other beverage producers for their drinks caffeinating of synthetic novelty.

The European process of decaffeination involves soakingbeans in water and wash with methylene chloride. The chemical absorbs the caffeine effectively grains. The grains are then treated dried and roasted. The European process does not leave much caffeine in the beans after roasting. Although coffee processed by this method has more flavor, some people do not feel something comfortable drinking has been treated with chemicals.

The Swiss water process has no chemical treatment. Beans soaked in water aretreatment with activated charcoal. This filter effectively caffeinated beans that are then immersed in a decaffeinated solution to eliminate all substances except caffeine. The drying and roasting steps, giving you a decaffeinated coffee without chemicals. Unfortunately, some essential oils are also removed in the process leaving you with less of a taste flavor.

You may be surprised to learn that a cup of decaffeinated coffee is rich in acidic and may cause stomach problems. Itis also known to reduce bone density and increases the risk of heart attack. So take it easy on decaf, just because it is caffeine free, this does not mean it is good for you.
